Sociolinguistic change during the modernization movement period in Turkish

In terms of the sociolinguistic change, because of the close relationship between the language and the society, social changes and the developments definitely affected the language during the modernization movement period in Turkish.
In parallel to the reformation movements at the social institutions by the change of the regime as Republican regime in Turkey, the language reformation has been realized as well. Since the aim of the foundation of the Turkish Republic was to make possible for the society to reach the modern and cultural level, the aim of the language reformation was planned for the modernized society to have the modernized cultural language. In this paper, the developments about these issues will be presented.
