Asian Attitude to the Child: Central Asia and Southern Asia

This article reveals the attitude of Central Asian and Southern Asian people to the principles of bringing up children. We analyze firstly, our ancestors’ attitude to the child and methods of fostering children with the help of the national language as a treasury of national culture, tradition, ethics, beliefs, culture of relationship between the people in society. Using national mentality expressed in our epos, legends, fairy tales, proverbs and sayings we try to draw the attention of the young generation and educate them in national traditions.

We live in a modern world and use all conveniences which offer new technologies. Modern life and our beliefs, some contradictory notions in our mind and reality gives us an opportunity to compare images of our vision and models of behavior of a child.

We are going to compare: 1. Fostering children in the family: historical approach. We deal here with the problems of family relations and principles of bringing up a child nowadays and our ancestors’ experience; 2. Attention to the behavior of a child in society. A child at the kindergarten, at school and in public; and 3. Influence of the internet and other sources of information on a child.
