The 54th Annual Meeting of the Permanent International Altaistic Conference (PIAC) was held as a joint conference, organized by the Mongolia Society and the PIAC, at Indiana University, Bloomington/Indiana, from July 10 to 15, 2011.
The central theme of the meeting was: Anniversaries, Feasts and Celebrations in the Altaic World.
The Indiana University Prize for Altaic Studies, or PIAC Medal by its colloquial name, was awared to György Kara.
