The Application of Manchu Word Formation on the Creation of New Words

With the continuous advance of the revival of Manchu language after a century of silence, Manchu language will carry more and more abundant and modern emotions and thoughts. It is now imperative to create new words. Manchu is an agglutinative language that has powerful derivational ability, and traditionally, people are used to creating new words by blending of words. So derivation and blending become the most important two methods of Manchu word formation in the new era. This paper will introduce and research the two methods by analyzing the widely used and recognized new words.
