The paper gives the revue of the materials of the Mongolian folklore in the Orientalist Archive at the Saint-Petersburg branch of the Institute of Oriental studies, which in the best traditions of Russian Mongolian studies, brought together the strongest specialists in the field. Among these materials are fascinating examples of folk literature in various dialects of the Mongols, Buryats and Kalmyks. They include large poetic genres, short poetic genres, prose genres, aphoristic genres, shamanist poetry.
