Bedbahtdala (Kazahstan) and Its Monuments
50th Annual Meeting of the PIAC, Kazan 2007
There is a desert named Bedbahtdala in Kazahstan within the boundaries of Chimkent Oblus. This desert which takes place between Chimkent and Jeskazgan Oblus covers an area of 700 km in diameter.
There isn’t any settlement in Badbahtdala now. But this was not so in the past. This is understood from the remained ruins of the turbas (graves) belonging to the old Turkish tribes.
In this paper I will give you information about the turbas of the antiquity and Middle Ages that I had seen during my researches in September 2004, in this area which is not well-known by Kazah friends.
