In 1273, Hobilai Han gave the order to Shindu and Hung-Cha-Chiu to attack Tamra Island (now the Jin Jou Island in South Korea). After the island was taken over, Hin-Tung-Jing committed suicide in the island. The Mongols occupied this island and made use of it as the base, then the Mongols sent the messenger to Japan several times, but Japan Kamakura bakufu refused to show peace and killed the messengers. It arose the Mongols to attack Japan in 1274 and 1280, and surround Hakada area. It was strange that there were two storms and the navy fleet sank and the Mongols was defeated. The Japanese thought that the God helped them to bring the wind. And from that day it was called Kami kaze (God’s wind).
There is a high statue at the entrance of the front door and both sides wherever in the island’s schools, offical buildings temples and airports. The Korean called the stone stature “Doi Harbang”. In Mongol, there are the same form stone stature “Chulun Hun” in Mongolian word. According to historical linguistic, I will explain the meaning of the “Harubang” and function in this paper.
